Chitchat: My birthday & Christmas moodboard

Hey there… It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these chitchat posts. Well, to be honest, I haven’t blogged much at all lately. Which I really want to change. So let’s start with a little chat. How are you, how have you been doing? Let me know in the comments! I’m ok, it’s a strange world we live in right now but all in all, I’m doing fine. It was my 25th Birthday last week and it was definitely a 25th that I could not have predicted… A socially distanced birthday. Here in the Netherlands we’re only allowed 3 people in the house per day which was a bit of a struggle with my birthday. It was fine though, I spread it out over a couple of days and a good friend of mine is even coming this week still, so more days of fun I guess!

And obviously, I had to have applepie. I don’t think I’ve ever had a birthday without applepie. Well, when I was a baby probably, but other than that. So the night before my dad and I baked applepie, following my late grandmother her recipe. It is so good! It’s just the best pie ever. And I’m baking another one this week since my friend is coming. Which I totally don’t mind at all 🙂

I also got some really nice presents for my birthday. Some new boots, a plant book, a couple of other bits and some giftcards. That I’ve already spend. I ordered a book with one; The Magpie Society by Zoe Sugg, my most anticipated read of 2020. And I placed an H&M Home order with the other, obviously Christmas related…

Which brings me to Christmas in general… I know that we’re only halfway through October, but damn I am already in the Christmas spirit. I have listened to Christmas music, watched old Vlogmas videos and I already bought some things. I am so excited about Christmas, it might be different then previous years and a lot isn’t possible. But man, I just crave the Christmas cheer, especially now! So I’ve been thinking about what I want my decor to be like this year, and I even made a little moodboard. Yes, I am a bit extra when it comes to Christmas.

So this is what I have in mind for this year. I’m thinking about getting a new Christmas tree, I really like the IKEA tree you see in the left hand corner. It’s really sparse and Scandinavian. It’s super different but I really do like the minimal look. The tree I have now is a flocked tree, which I have loved for years, but I’m not really into the flocked look. It’s time for a change. In terms of decorations, I plan on using a lot that I already have, but I also got some new baubles already and might get some more. The overall theme is going to be green and gold, maybe with a little hint of red but I’m not sure about that yet. I have had a green theme for two years now, but I think adding the gold touches and changing the tree will make a big difference. I can not wait. I think I’m going to decorate super early this year. Again, I just need that Christmas cheer. So I think I’m just going to gradually bring in Christmas stuff right after Halloween. Here in town they have already decorated for Christmas so I guess I’m not the only one doing it early.

These are the baubles that I’ve already bought. Well, minus one that I got after taking this picture. I really really love these! I got them at the Action, a Dutch budget store (and I believe they have stores in more countries now). These are real glass and were only 99 cents per piece. Crazy right?! I obviously could not resist.

Sorry sorry sorry, ik zie je comments nu pas! Beetje mosterd na de maaltijd dit, maar ik weet niet waar de ster vandaan komt, het plaatje komt van Pinterest en er stond verder geen bron bij. Nogmaals sorry!
