So, as you may or may not know last year I didn’t read that much. I only read 11 books and the year before it was only 13. I told myself 2020 would be the year for me to finally read more books. That’s also why I started my book club – the Oh My Book Club, if you don’t know about that yet, you can read all about it here. Anyways, January has actually been quite successful on the reading front. I read 5 books. And maybe that doesn’t seem like much to you, but it definitely is to me. The last time I read that amount in one month is a long long time ago.
I mean, I’m almost halfway of the amount of books I read last year in one month. Isn’t that crazy? Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself, but I really genuinely believe that this is the year I turn it around and get my love for reading back completely. Not that I didn’t enjoy reading last year of the year before. But I’ve had so many reading slumps, which I hate, and that caused me to read so little. This book club thing is already helping. And not just mine! Elena from the gorgeous bookstagram account @thebibliotheque also started one; the Romancetheque book club, and I participated in that one in January too. Her book club focusses on romance books only, which is nice because I don’t read much of that genre, so I’m excited to broaden my horizons.
So these are the books that I read in January:
I really hope I can keep this reading flow alive because I definitely loved it last month. I’ve got two book club books to read, so I should end up reading at least two, but I obviously hope I can get more reading than that done. Right now I’m reading My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite, which is quite a short read so I’m thinking I’ll have my first read of February finished soon.
